Basic information: Leave Krakow for a few hours and visit one of the most historically significant places in Europe – UNESCO listed Auschwitz Museum and Birkenau Camp in Oświęcim. It’s a memorial devoted to over 1.5 million victims murdered by the Nazis during WWII and a symbol of Holocaust – one of the greatest crimes against humanity in the world’s history. Birkenau is located in Oświęcim and today it serves as Auschwitz-Birkenau National Museum covering 191 ha: 20 ha in Auschwitz I and 171 ha in Auschwitz II.
Pick up: The tour starts every day from Krakow city center at a chosen place, all the available pick up places will be shown while booking the tour. English-speaking driver and/or tour leader will take you directly to the Auschwitz I museum, where one of the local tour guides speaking chosen languages will take over. This tour with the guide, covering two concentration camps will take about 3.5 h.
